After reading, "Generation always on," it had me thinking do I really like technology and the way it has grown? The answer is YES. I remember growing up and having to take up the only phone line in the house to get on the internet and that took about five minutes to just connect. Now there is Wi-Fi everywhere and with the rapid growth of technology you can access the internet on anything, even on your television. I know that it is hard for students to not look at their phones while getting educated, but technology is not to be blamed, the student is. I know people text and drive and in California where I live, it is against the law to text and drive but honestly people die more trying to hide the phone from cops than actually sending a quick message.
I did not grow up in the era of generations always on, but I did grow to love it. With the vast production of Apple and Samsung, they have made access very easy to social networks. There always is a positive and negative to every situation. I know I love technology and it may not be for everyone because it can distract some people but with technology, instead of a teacher just reading power points for lectures, some actually make it interesting and make creative videos for the students to enjoy and learn at the same time. I am one to rely on the internet for many things, even online shopping but for me it is more convenient and cheaper at the same time.
